Lunch Club Saved by Men's Shed volunteers- 02/09/2017

The Port Elphinstone Lunch Club, meeting every Wednesday between 12pm and 2pm, was recently close to folding after losing their only driver. The Lunch club is composed of senior residents and is a vital lifeline in the community preventing loneliness and social isolation among Port Elphinstone Pensioners. The lunch club was recently left without a driver to pick up their lunches and this left the lunch club hanging on the threat of closure. Thankfully, two volunteers, Henry Wilson and Ken Duguid have volunteered their time to get the lunches to the club. We cannot thank them enough for this and hope to see the lunch club continuing for many years to come.

    Nursery Visit To Lunch Club-15/06/2017

On the 14th of June, 18 children from port Elphinstone nursery visited the port Elphinstone lunch club and entertained the members of the lunch club. They sang songs in English, Doric and french! This proved to be very popular with the members and the children loved it. The members very kindly gave Mrs Kelman a donation which bought them ice lollies and pancakes on their sports day.
